Rooftop Garden and Sky Lounge Add a Metropolitan Touch to Aqua

By Jennifer Marko

Taking another turn at adding unique and unexpected touches to the community, the developers of Aqua at Pelican Isle Yacht Club have released plans for a rooftop garden and sky lounge to grace the 9th floor of each of the community's two condominium towers.

These features are more commonly found in large, metropolitan cities with less access to parks and green space. At Aqua, they are luxury amenities that will offer residents additional space to relax, dine, entertain and enjoy breathtaking sunset views, either outdoors or in.

The rooftop garden will feature lush greenery and tropical flower gardens, along with a gas grill, an outdoor spa and gas fireplace and several relaxation areas. The adjoining sky lounge is an indoor entertainment setting surrounded by glass with nearly 180 degree views and complete with a full kitchen, powder bath, living area and indoor fireplace. Private elevators will transport Aqua residents and their guests to the two separate 9th floor hideaways, which each provide an impressive 3,300 square feet of space. Service elevators will access the space for catered events.

Ed Oelschlaeger, President of EcoGroup, Inc., the developer of Aqua, commented that the rooftop garden and sky lounge in each tower will add to the private and exclusive feel of the community. "Aqua residents will enjoy so many amenities that other communities don't offer, and these two elegant areas are among the most unexpected," he said. "With only 80 total residences, there will always be a quiet space available to gather with friends or to enjoy a sunset. You don't often have these opportunities in large scale developments."

Oelschlaeger added that the rooftop garden and sky lounge areas will be designed by Bonnie Manson, the owner of Interior Design Associates of Nashville, Tennessee, who also designed the community's other common areas.

Aqua's residences are 3 and 4 bedroom homes with a study and will range in size from 3,800 square feet to penthouses with more than 6,000 square feet of living space. Two of Aqua's penthouses are two-story with private rooftop gardens and soaring 20-foot ceilings. Residences range in price from $1.95 million to more than $6 million.
