Pre-construction Activities Have Begun at Aqua at Pelican Isle Yacht Club

Eaglet living on the edge of the property fledged from the nest in March - With news that an eaglet living on the adjacent property has successfully fledged from the nest, developers of the super luxury condominium community, Aqua at Pelican Isle Yacht Club, have begun pre-construction activities on the site.

Currently, test piles are being driven to ensure that weight requirements are met for the foundation, a common practice in tower construction. Construction of the residential and recreational structures is scheduled to begin this summer, and the community will be built by Boran Craig Barber Engel Construction Company, Inc. Construction of a new sea wall and marina are also scheduled for this summer.

Construction activities for Aqua have been on hold until the eaglet which hatched in nest CO 19 had successfully fledged the nest. Fledging is defined as the eaglet's ability to fly from the nest to another tree or branch. In September, Aqua's development company, EcoGroup, Inc., held a mandatory training session during which a trainer from the Audubon Society instructed construction team members on how responsible construction methods can safely coincide with the eagles. The site has been monitored since October by the environmental consulting firm of Passarella and Associates, which recently reported that the lone eaglet had successfully fledged from the nest in late March.

Home sales at Aqua remain steady, with more than $75 million in sales reported to date. This number represents reservations on more than half of the Aqua's north tower residences since the community's official release in February.
