SARASOTA, FL—The marketing team at The Founders Club expected that its first-ever Showcase of Homes would be a success. They weren’t disappointed. “We estimate that some 1,000 guests came through our gates on July 29,” says Steve Brown, director of marketing. What’s more, the private community has recorded over $6 million in sales since the July Showcase, he adds. Now the co-sponsors—The Founders Club, its approved builders and an elite group of brokers—hope to repeat their success with Showcases on Sunday, August 26, and Sunday, September 30, from 1 to 5 p.m. The Showcase of Homes includes exquisitely furnished builder models, builder inventory homes and resale listings by the area’s most reputable brokers. A list of these homes is available at www.thefoundersclub.com.
“We are once again opening our gates, over 25 spectacular homes and our beautiful clubhouse, Golf Hall,” Brown says. Visitors will stop at the Sales Gallery for a map and list of homes on the tour, then drive through the community to see the homes of their choice. “We also invite them to join us at Golf Hall, for complimentary refreshments,” he adds.
Participating brokers were pleased with the July Showcase. Joel Schemmel, an agent with SKY Sotheby’s International Realty, has four homes listed in The Founders Club. “We were extremely happy to see so many people coming out to learn about The Founders Club and what it has to offer,” Schemmel says. “We thought the Showcase was a really good success, with so many people going through the homes.”
“This is the ideal time to buy,” Brown says. “Our builders and brokers are offering exceptional values.” He cites significant reductions across the price spectrum. “A family can get a custom-built, 3,200-square-foot home plus a home site with breathtaking vistas for about $1 million—or they can choose from among the larger homes with prices exceeding $5 million.”
Available homes range from 3,089 to 6,578 square feet under air and have dramatic outside living environments. In addition, the purchase of any of the 13 unique golf cottages includes an Equity Golf Membership, while the purchase of a developer home site provides an Equity Social Membership in The Founders Golf Club, a member-owned entity whose social life centers around an 18-hole course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. and the many vibrant activities within the 24,000-square-foot Golf Hall.
Homes in The Founders Club have achieved widespread recognition. Four of the builder models were named “Best Overall” winners in the two-county Parade of Homes and one model won the 2007 Grand Aurora, a regional honor granted by the Southeast Builders Conference for the “best energy-efficient home.” Those chosen to build homes in this private community are John Cannon Homes, Lee Wetherington Homes, Pruett Builders, Todd Johnston Homes, Taylor Woodrow and The Founders Club Golf Cottages.
Brokers co-sponsoring the Showcase of Homes are Candy Swick & Company; Golf Style, Fine Golf Real Estate; Good Life Realty; Michael Saunders & Co.; Prudential Florida WCI Realty; Prudential Palms Realty; RE/MAX Excellence; RE/MAX Gulfstream; RE/MAX Properties; Waterford Real Estate Services; and SKY Sotheby’s International Realty.
The Founders Club, an exclusive community in Sarasota, Florida, is located 3.1 miles east of I-75/exit 210 on Fruitville Road. The private 700-acre enclave has more than three dozen families in residence and over 110 homes under construction or finished. It will have only 262 residences at completion.
